Why is benchmarking your website a good idea?
“All successful companies are constantly benchmarking their competition. They have to know what they have to match up with day-in and day-out if their company is going to be successful.”
James Dunn, American actor
Measurement and statistics are powerful. But how valuable are they without a benchmark?
The website testing tools SiteRay and SiteBeam are focused on measuring the quality of websites, but the scores and information given in the reports can be a bit overwhelming without some context.
Knowing how your site or a client’s site compares to another is crucial. Otherwise, how can you know what’s good or bad, and how you can improve?
Fortunately the compare feature in these reporting tools makes this easy. It’s a convenient way to present the scores from two websites directly alongside each other, through a split screen.
Linking to a report in SiteBeam and SiteRay
We’ve recently added some new functionality to our online website testing products SiteBeam, SiteRay and WSI Webscan that allow you to share a link to the summary report.
To create a direct link to the report, navigate to your report and press “Link”.
This will open a dialog box with the link automatically selected, so that you can copy and paste this into any other program or email.
