As it’s the Oscars this weekend, we thought we’d join in the party and celebrate the best websites tested by Nibbler during the last year (for those keen to know the detail, from 16 February 2010- 16 February 2011).
While you only ever see summary scores on your reports, behind the scenes Nibbler actually awards a score for every individual test – down to 4 decimal places. So the websites celebrated here achieved the highest score in that test last year.
Not all individual tests have an award category, because many tests returned a perfect 10 score for hundreds of websites, proving there are a lot of good websites out there!
Congratulations if you’re one of the lucky winners, and sorry if you missed out – there may have only been 1 hundredth of a point in it!
Best use of social media
Is jointly awarded to: www.npr.org, www.howstuffworks.com and www.wikipedia.org who all scored perfect 10s.
Best accessibility and Best technology
Many sites scored a perfect 10 for both these summary scores, so we’re jointly awarding the Oscar to the first 5 sites in the ‘top sites’ list (on 17 February) with a perfect 10 for accessibility and technology.
These were:
And finally, the one you’ve all been waiting for.
Best website goes to…
www.rikoshay.nl which has regularly been the top site on Nibbler for a long period of time.
So did you make the list? Or are you unenthusiastically applauding and practising your ‘not too disappointed’ loser face right now?
To the winners: well done! We invite you to give a brief acceptance speech below.
